"You truly can't go wrong with her by your side."
Brooke was an amazing doula! I was her first client, but you'd NEVER know it. She gave me multiple resources beforehand to assist me in attempting my natural hospital delivery. She was well respected by the doctors and nurses and even they couldn't believe this was her first birth. You truly can't go wrong with her by your side!

"Even my husband, who stated we didn't need a doula, was impressed and happy with her."
I am very happy that we hired Brooke. My water broke and labor never started. I was given Pitocin to start my labor and was very dissapointed because I had thought that I would end up needing an epidural to help with the pain. Brooke told me that I could do it without if that's what I wanted.

Because of Brooke and her knowledge of pain-easing techniques, I was able to labor without an epidural despite the Pitocin. I cannot recommend her enough! She was fantastic. Even my husband, who stated we didn't need a doula, was impressed and happy with her. He admitted that the birth experience was much better because she was there.

"Brooke helped me realize that I am strong."
I am SO glad that I went into labor with a wonderful support team, including Brooke as my doula! She gave me great resources and helped me think through how she and my husband could be a support for me during labor. Normally, when I’m in pain, I bottle it all up and draw into myself. Brooke said that would not work with labor—and she was right!
Brooke helped me realize that I am strong. She helped me through a 27-hour-labor (including pushing for an hour and a half) on three hours of sleep and without any pain
medication. She was so encouraging and helped to create an environment in which I was constantly feeling encouraged and empowered! I became more brave and determined as I heard her positive words.
Brooke was great about thinking of little things that would help me: stroking my hair, holding my water bottle so I could get a sip, pressing a cold cloth to my forehead, or suggesting a heat pack for my back. She even suggested that the baby might be asynclitic—and she was right! Her suggestion prompted us to work on turning the baby's head—which we did successfully!
I would definitely recommend Brooke as a doula. She has a great listening ear and put in a lot of time and effort to answer whatever questions I had! Read Betsy's full birth story.

"[She] took a lot of pressure off of me making sure my wife was fully supported."
Brooke was an excellent support person during my wife's delivery for our first child. She was very encouraging not just for my wife but for me as well during what could be a stressful time. She was very knowledgeable and professional through the meetings before, during, and after the delivery itself.
I'm so glad she was there to help me feel comfortable during the process and took a lot of pressure off of me making sure my wife was being supported fully. Brooke is a very caring person and I know she loves what she does and puts forth a lot of work making sure you have a great delivery. Thank you.

"Brooke helped me to have confidence in myself."
I was a little unsure if I really needed to hire a doula, but trying for a VBAC I wanted to do everything I could to raise my chances of success. Brooke was always available to listen to my worries and fears. She helped me to have confidence in myself and my body. During my short labor she had the gentle touch I needed, but also was the firm voice of support when I would feel I couldn't do it. She stills checks in on me sometimes even weeks later. Definitely a decision I'm happy I made.

"Having Brooke there helped me so much to relax."
My name is Katie and I heard about Brooke from my sister Lacey. From the very beginning of my pregnacy I developed severe anxiety. With my anxiety many other problems developed which ended up landing me on bed rest. Unfortunately my pregnacy was very hard for me and I was very discouraged from the beginning and terrified of what was to come.

My family got me in touch with Brooke thinking having someone there all the time in labor would help me. I am so glad they did. Having Brooke there helped me so much to relax. I never would have made it through that day without her. She learned some special relaxation techniques for me and breathed through every contraction with me.
Even though my body and baby had different plans for delivery, Brooke helped me through accepting and dealing with a C-section. Even after the birth she has come to see us and offered many different classes and parenting groups. If I ever plan another child I will definitely use her as a doula again!

"The entire experience was exactly what I'd hoped for (and more)."
I was very happy to have Brooke as part of my support team, and couldn't have been more satisfied with our experience with her. She was very knowledgeable, and provided us with loads of information and encouragement during our prenatal meetings and postpartum visits. I felt very strongly that I wanted a different experience from the birth of our first child, and having a doula in our corner this time gave me that
reassurance that a natural hospital birth was completely doable. Brooke did a wonderful job helping me create a specific birth plan, and made suggestions for ensuring the birth I envisioned.
During my labor and delivery (which was incredibly fast and furious), Brooke's calm presence and encouragement helped me to stay focused. She was also very helpful communicating our preferences with the hospital staff during and after our daughter was born. The entire experience was exactly what I had hoped for (and more), and left me feeling empowered and grateful for Brooke's support throughout. I would definitely recommend Brooke!

"The support she provided during the birth was priceless."
When I originally told my husband I wanted a doula he was very skeptical, but I showed him a few profiles and we landed on Brooke and a few others. I sent out emails and as fate would have it, Brooke was the only one who had our month available to take clients.

We met with Brooke over dinner and instantly felt at ease. Josh had a lot of questions as a first time dad about what a doula was for and how she would help me get the unmedicated birth that I wanted. He also had a lot of questions about interventions and hospital births. Through the pregnancy Brooke was there even at 2 a.m. when we had questions or concerns. She made sure that any resources she sent us were valid and not just someone’s opinion, and also sent us both sides so we could make informed decisions.
Towards the end of the pregnancy when we had to switch from the birth center to the hospital and schedule an induction due to gestational hypertension, Brooke comforted me and helped me realize I could still have the birth I wanted. The day of induction Brooke joined us at the hospital bright and early and was a constant comfort and help through the entire day. She helped my husband figure out ways to help me and also kept us informed of what was going on. I honestly don't think I would have made it through labor without an epidural if it wasn't for Brooke. She gave my husband and I the tools we needed to be informed and the support she provided during birth was priceless.
Even more than that has been her support since the birth of our son through the hospital stay and our son being hooked up to IVs. She didn’t make me feel judged when I struggled with breastfeeding and the anger and depression I felt with it, but tried to help me and accepted my decision to quit. There is no doubt that the next time we are pregnant we will have Brooke as our doula again. She has become a friend and we cannot thank her enough for everything she has done for us.

"When I met with Brooke and told my story, I felt justified. I felt like I mattered."
It has been 2 months since I gave birth to my second child, a son. I am still in awe at the whole process this time around. I decided very early on, that I needed a midwife and a doula. I needed a strong support system this time around. I didn't know what I was looking for in a doula, just that I needed to feel comfortable with her. After all, she would be invited into my sacred birthing space.
I first heard Brooke's name in connection to her local birth trauma support group. Having experienced birth trauma and PPD with the birth of my first son, that really caught my attention. When I met with her and told my story, I felt justified. I felt like I mattered. I felt comfortable. She has experience with birth trauma, and knows how delicate of a situation it is. I wanted this birth, a planned homebirth, to be a healing experience for me. And she understood that. She helped me all along the way, always answering any questions that I had. She believed in me, even in the dark moments when I didn't quite believe in myself. By the time I went into labor, Brooke had become much more than a doula to me. She was more like a friend, who happened to be a doula.
She arrived at my house a couple of hours before my son was born, and she fell right into place. She took care of me, so that I could focus on baby. I didn't know what to expect from Brooke during my labor and delivery, but I couldn't have asked for more. Even when we were transferred to the hospital, she continued to take care of me. She stayed by my side, until she knew that baby and I were going to be alright. She even made a trip to the store, to gather ingredients for a placenta smoothie. She was the best investment I made for my birth, and I will recommend her to anyone (and everyone!).
Thank you, Brooke. You helped me far more than you will ever know. You gave me the strength to birth my baby, on my terms.

"I don't remember having to ask for anything because her support was so intuitive."
I sought out a Doula as this was my first pregnancy and I knew I wanted someone who was specifically there for me - to advocate for my needs, guide me with personal background knowledge, and help support both me and my husband. Brooke did not disappoint. I vividly remember the softness of her presence as she quietly guided my husband to my side to hold my hand, touch my back, and offer encouragement. I truly attribute the ease of my birth experience to Brooke.

My goal was to be able to deliver unmedicated. Brooke supported this goal from the beginning, offering multiple resources - yoga videos, books, and articles to answer my questions and help me prepare mentally and emotionally. When it came down to the physical reality of being in labor, she actively communicated with my husband, offering to come to our home. I chose to labor at home alone, but Brooke was in constant contact and helped guide us when to head to the hospital. She met us at the hospital shortly after we arrived.

I don't remember having to ask for anything because her support was so intuitive. She asked the right questions, inserted herself in a sensitive and timely way, and ultimately gave me the confidence that I could do it. Thanks to Brooke, I delivered a beautiful baby boy, unmedicated. I felt so present, so supported, so loved, and so connected to my husband. It was amazing.

I can't help but get emotional whenever I think of my birth story. My review of Brooke is a long time coming. Just every time I began to write it, I wanted to share so much more of my own story. Brooke is the reason my story resonates so strongly in my heart, and definitely a reason to want her to be a part of your own experience. I hope she brings you the same quiet comfort and strength she brought us. I am forever thankful!
